Dezine Tip of the Day - Using Patterns in an Interior
Patterns provide a room with interest but they can also make it an eyesore. Unless you are going to make a feature or focal point of pattern, then you need to use patterns more than once in a room, place it around the room to balance the look. If you want to use more than one pattern in a space, (which some people just can't fathom) ensure that there is an element that brings the patterns together, for example a similar color way, design element and style, emblem, or motif. Don't shy away from patterns, give them a go because they do create a personality to a room, just take your time and build up the patterns slowly. You will soon see when you place new patterns in the space if they will work or not!
