Lighting Considerations
Think about the light in a room before you start planning, visit a few rooms and physically look at the space and see if the lighting works, sit down and try and read, look at the walls, are the paintings highlighted, does the room have movement and focus.
Light in the room requires contrast and/or shadow or else it will become bland. The room will feel flat and lifeless and there will be no focal point and it will not be functional. This applies to your home interiors but in commercial situations lighting is far more complex and often a studio, office or classroom will require a bright overall ambient light for concentrated work.
