Interior Color Scheme Idea - Interior Dezine Tip of the Day

A no fail color scheme concept, is to use one dominant color as the main theme for the room and then scatter accent colors around the room to add detail, pattern and texture. Make sure they are balanced and not all placed in one corner, it is easy to make changes to get it just right this way by simply moving a picture on the wall, shifting an armchair, throwing some scatter cushions on the sofa, rather than wallpapering or painting lots of colors and then finding out they don't work well together!

  1. Great info. I also feel that one needs a color pallette so to speak. What works best is to pick a color and use this color in varying depths in the adjoining rooms. I tend to use a camel/beige color and add splashes of brick red, gold, green and merlot. These colors are evident in ALL of my spaces. I feel that in using a specific color pallette one can create a home with flow a harmoniuos flow, not a coat of many colors. After taking much time to pick your colors stick with your original choices. Also it is easier to match a fabric with an existing color rather than an existing color with a fabric.
